Selected time series for total educational expense, per-student expense, test scores, and total daily attendance.

Over all of California, for the study years, there is a long term trend for increasing expenditures, with decreasing number of students, resulting in an increasing cost per student. Note that for 2017-2018, the total K-12 budget was $67B, so these data represent a slight undercount.
